The First Plenary Session of 15th Council of the 15th General Meeting of China Maritime Law Association

On the afternoon of July 28, 2020, the China Maritime Law Association ( "the Association") successfully held its first Plenary Session of 15th Council of the 15th General Meeting ("the Conference") in an innovative offline & online way.
More than 500 delegates from all over the country participated in the conference by webcast video conference. The conference was presided over by Gu Chao, vice-president of the 15th Council of the Association and Secretary- general of China Maritime Arbitration Commission. In accordance with the principle of openness, fair and transparent, and democratic procedure, offline & online secret ballot was adopted in the conference. Lu Peng, board chairman of the 14th session of the Association, made the work report for delibration and approval. The conference also reviewed and approved the financial report of 14th session delivered by Chen Bo, the Secretary- general of the Association, and the bill of membership fee standard modification. The conference also made a decision on the directors of the 15th Council, standing directos of the 15 Council, president of the 15th Council, Vice-president and Secretary-general of the 15th Councial by election, and voted for the approval of the deputy Secretary- general of the 15th Councial nominated by the new Secretary- general.
Mr. Hu Zhihui, general manager of Quest Marine Consultant Company ("QMCCL"), was elected as the standing director of the 15th Council, and Ms. Zhang Wenjuan, general manager assistant of QMCCL, was elected as the director of the 15th Council.
Gu Chao, vice-president of the 15th Council of the Association, made a conclusion for the conference that, with the concreted efforts of the delegates, the Association has summarized and reviewed the work of the 14th Council of teh Association in strict accordance with the constitution of the Assocation, and completed the agenda concerning the change of the council. The Association will carry out its work in a pragamtic and effective way, giving full scope to the collective wisdom of the Council and mobilizing the strength of all members. As alwyas, we will do a good job in providing a platform for communication betwee the academic community and the industry of maritime law, and strive to promote the development and the perfection of China's maritime law, thus contributing to the coordination and unification of maritime law worlwide.
